Michael Kaplan
Michael Kaplan is an educator, business owner, and adventurer. His travels have taken him to 139 countries and counting! Michael’s adventures range from working on cruise ships, oil tankers, and fishing boats, to climbing the Matterhorn and trekking the Himalayas, to getting thrown in jail in communist East Germany, to becoming a respected lecturer at universities around the world. He holds graduate degrees from Harvard and Thunderbird and his classes are known for relating the academic material with ‘real-life’ experiences.
He recently authored The Happy Wanderer – A Dyslexic’s Global Adventure about his struggle with dyslexia and how he discovered global travel as an alternative way to learn. Originally from New England, he now makes Park City, Utah his home where he enjoys skiing, ice hockey, and hiking.
